I am looking forward to presenting a new paper at 29th Cairo International Festival for Contemporary & Experimental Theatre 1-8th September. "Experiments in Therapeutic Participatory Theatre in Virtual Spaces Using Clowning and Puppetry" will be presented at the seminar " The Presence of Technology in the Scenography of Today's Theaters of the World"
I also gave a brief overview of the project to research colleagues at the English and Performance Research Groups Awayday yesterday, where there were helpful questions about the origins of the project, the approach to working with older participants with dementia, and about the appearance of uncanny and threatening puppets in films. I hope that Pinocchio, as a positive and playful adopter of digital technology keeps a step ahead of the uncanny!
