... to strive for the Fluxus’ ethos of underpinning Performance Art sketches with “the monostructural and non-theatrical qualities of [a] simple natural event, a game or a gag” (Philpott, 2021).
To support, deepen and sustain scholarly enquiry into Comedy Practices and Studies and its intersections with Performance Art.
To support and enhance the growth of interdisciplinary practices between Comedy and Performance Art through research collaboration and activity.
To develop public appreciation of the interaction between Comedy and Performance Art (and Art more generally), thus raising awareness of potential forms for Comedy practices as well as access to a theoretical and conceptual framework through which to understand both disciplines.
